Treadway held their first auction in 1980 after five years as a private dealer exhibiting at shows across the USA and Europe. 1987 began a 30 year run in Chicago, creating a presence in the art and design movement worldwide. From its beginning, Treadway was the first auction house to not only specialize in the 20th century design movement, but to also guarantee the objects they sold.
